Spoke with Elder Meyer this morning, prior to his flight to Tokyo, then Guam. He sounds so happy, and very excited about the adventure and the opportunities to teach.  During the conversation, I was reminded of Isaiah 18:1-2.  "Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia." Woe is used here as a greeting. This land may be considered the Americas. Joseph Field Smith connected the artwork of wings to the continent. See picture I created below:
Verse 2 reads, "That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled..." Missionaries are the personal ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ. The creation of air travel and etc... is fulfilling this prophecy.   --- John Meyer (Dad)
